Welcome back! As you may have noticed, the ads around here keep changing around with each visit. That's Google Adsense at work. You see, it learns what works on your site and what doesn't and trims the fat. Hey, Google wants to squeeze as many clicks as they can from your blog, which is great for us too!
Now that you have your site all ready for visitors, it's time to get the visitors to your site. Large companies spend millions a year broadcasting their web addresses. Also, companies create the ads you will have on your site through Google Adwords, and that's how you make your money. They will bid on certain keywords to have placement of their ads. Depending on the subject and competition, they will bid anywhere from 5 cents to as much as $5 for each click. When someone clicks on their Adwords ad on your site, you and Google make money. So you see, when you become an Internet guru promoting big ticket items on websites you developed, there may come a day when you have your own Adwords ads yourself. But for now, we want to do this for free, and the best method for getting a good position so people can find us is with writing and posting articles. You see Google and Yahoo! love articles. Although we are in the e-commerce era now, top search engines still pride themselves for providing information first and product advertisement second. Search engines love article websites like goarticles and ezinearticles. They also like sites which advertise as ad sites, but provide rich information content like usfreeads. It's time to sign up with the last two on the list, Article Submitter and usfreeads.
Article Submitter will allow you to download their program and use it for free to submit to 85 article sites. After you begin generating income, you can upgrade to a gold membership and submit to 660 article sites. This is a very effective way to reach your audience and get them to your site. Now that you are set up with these sites, it's time to write your article for submitting. You should have your subject and keywords handy. Keep your keywords to a minimum like 5. If you have 10 you really like, write a second article and focus on the other five keywords. To begin you will need a title and this is very important. Your title is what places you on searches and brings people to your article. It needs to contain your niche search phrase. Lets go back to the subject "scrap book ecuts". Your title should be something like Scrap Book ecuts - Reviewed or Rated. Or you can go this route, Top Ten Scrap Book ecuts. Next you will list your keywords and these are what Google and Yahoo! use to determine what your article is about and where it should be placed, examples: scrap book ecuts, scrapbook ecuts, scrapbooking, etc. You want your keywords to be clear and understandable because you will need to use them in the body of your article. Try and use each keyword 3 times throughout your writing. Next is your abstract or "hook". Only a couple of sentences at the most, this is your introduction and where your readers are deciding if they are staying or leaving, and you want them to stay and read to the bottom where they will see your link so make it count! Example: Searching for the best scrapbook ecuts? Look no further! I have reviewed many scrapbooking ecuts and report my findings for your review. Nice hook and I nailed some keywords too. Now the main body. Keep it to 250 - 400 words with no fluff. Dig right in and give information to your audience, but not everything. Keep it to the point but vague as you will be suggesting they visit your site for more details at the end. Then at the end of the article, you will provide a short bio and links to your site. Don't just put one link, but do something like this: Steve Smith has been scrapbooking for 10 years. You can read more about his "scrap book ecuts reviews" posted on his "blog", here is the address: "scrapbookecutsreviews.blogspot.com". Notice that "scrap book ecuts reviews" and "blog" and "scrapbookecutsreviews.blogspot.com" are all links to your blog.
Hey, before you begin writing, look around the article sites and see how others are setting up their articles. Follow success! Even search for your subject and see what's already on there. This can give you ideas to expand on and areas that aren't mentioned or touched upon with the other articles. What ever you do, don't copy other peoples work because you will get caught and booted! Another thing I would like to mention here is don't click on your own Google ads. It doesn't work and you may get booted from the program!
Well, this concludes the lesson but not the education! I hope that this was encouraging to you and created some excitement for Adsense. It doesn't happen overnight, but it does happen. You'll first start seeing an average of 1 or 2 clicks per day that equal pennies, then it begins to build as you continue promoting and getting more visitors. Adsense is kind of like something I remember learning as a kid; the old double a penny each day for a month. Let's say you get a penny on the 1st day of the month and on the second day you get 2 pennies, third day you get 4 pennies, fourth day you get 8 pennies and so on. Just keep doubling for a month and see what happens. On the tenth day you get $5.12, on the 20th day you get $5,242.88, and on the 30th day you get $5,368,709.12. Now I'm not saying you will become a millionaire in 30 days, this is an extreme example. But as you continue to double the efforts that got you your first $1, you can see how this can grow big for you. Your $1 per day becomes $10 per day, then $20, then $40... That's a pretty nice second income you've created in a matter of weeks!
This is just the tip of the tip of the iceberg. Be patient as it takes time for this system to develop. Google and Yahoo! have to crawl your sites and articles, and they will not show up immediately in searches. But keep finding niches to promote, create blogs and submit article after article to promote them. Continue educating yourself by reading more articles on Google Adsense and soon you will start seeing the income flow in. When you have the funds to invest, check out the programs I told you about.
